Access to Work could pay for your coaching

Access to Work is a government grant that can pay for support you need at work because of a health condition or disability, including ADHD. ADHD coaching is one of the most common things it funds.

Who can apply

  • You're 16 or over
  • You live in England, Scotland or Wales
  • You're employed, self-employed, or about to start a job
  • ADHD, or ADHD traits, affect you at work

You don't always need a formal diagnosis, but evidence such as an assessment report helps.

How to apply

  1. Apply online on GOV.UK.
  2. An adviser will contact you, and usually arranges a workplace needs assessment.
  3. If you're approved, you'll get a letter setting out what's funded.
  4. Book your coaching. Access to Work usually pays you (or your employer) back, using the invoice we give you.

Why STILL fits

The six-week course is built around what Access to Work looks for. Each session produces a practical workplace strategy or adjustment, and you finish with a written strategy and adjustment summary you can share with the scheme and your employer.

Good to know: you apply yourself, and decisions are made by the scheme, so we can't guarantee funding. Applications can take several months at the moment, so it's worth applying early. Your employer may be asked to contribute towards some costs.
