The STILL Method
The ideas behind our coaching, explained simply.
Steady first, then plan
ADHD affects how your brain and body regulate attention, energy and emotion. It's not a lack of willpower or effort.
When you're wound up, overwhelmed or completely flat, the parts of your brain that plan and organise go offline. A plan made in that state rarely survives real life. So the STILL Method always starts by helping you notice and steady your state, then works on strategy. We call this "state before strategy".
The three rooms
One of the first things you'll learn is to notice which "room" you're in. Everyone moves between these rooms during the day:
The fast room
Revved up, anxious, restless, irritable or racing. Hard to settle.
The steady room
Where you can think, focus and cope. This is where good plans get made.
The foggy room
Flat, blank, heavy or switched off. Starting anything feels impossible.
With ADHD, the steady room can be a bit smaller and the doors between rooms can swing faster. That's not a flaw in you; it's how your nervous system has learned to work. Learning to spot your own signs for each room is the skill everything else builds on.
What STILL stands for
Each letter is a step, and each of your six sessions focuses on one of them.
Stop
Pause and notice how you're feeling right now. That small gap is where choice becomes possible.
Talk
Put it into words. "I'm a mess" becomes "my ADHD makes starting hard, and here's why."
Imagine
Picture the outcome, or just the next small step, so vividly that it pulls you forward.
Listen
Tune in to what your body and feelings are telling you, and find the need behind the behaviour.
Learn
Turn what you've discovered into routines, reminders and set-ups that stick.
Celebrate
Bring it all together, notice how far you've come, and plan for the wobbles ahead.
Our promises to you
Affirm, never shame
ADHD is a difference, not a deficit. We're honest about strengths and challenges. You should leave feeling more like yourself, not more broken.
Honest about the science
We only claim what the evidence supports, and we'll tell you when something isn't yet known.
Clear boundaries
Coaching isn't therapy or medical care. If something needs different support, we'll tell you and help you find it.
